From O Magazine...Feeling Grateful

I am a longtime subscriber of O Magazine, and I love reading the contributors' questionnaire at the beginning of every issue, which relates to the monthly theme.

The theme for the month of November is the power of gratitude. Here's how I answered her questions.

I'll never stop being grateful for...

The love and kindness of the people in my life.
I am so blessed to have the most amazing family and friends who continually inspire me and so freely share their love.

My favorite way to say thank you is...
Say thank you. It need not be complicated. Just say thank you.

The best thank you I ever received was...
Thank you's from students are the greatest thank you a teacher could receive. I have been blessed to receive them in the form of thank you notes and poems, letters and cards, smiles and words of thanks. My kids live in my heart forever.

When I was a kid, I didn't realize how grateful I should have been for...
Naptime.

How would you answer these same questions?
Happy November.

  2. I love this! When we start focusing on the little things in life that we are thankful for instead of the other, more ridiculous, things in life it really put things into perspective.

  3. I never took advantage of nap time as a child, I rarely slept! I'm a bad napper as an adult too.

I know teachers had a huge impact in my life, and I wrote many of them thank yous. I'm still in touch with my fourth grade teacher - we exchange letters and emails and meet for lunch once or twice a year.

  6. This is such a great activity! I agree that a simple thank you goes a long way. Nothing fancy. When I was younger I didn't realize how grateful I should be for my parents and what they provided for me.
