From O Magazine: On Breakthroughs

I am a longtime subscriber of O Magazine, and I love reading the contributors' questionnaire at the beginning of every issue, which relates to the monthly theme.

The theme for the month of August is breaking through obstacles. Here's how I answered her questions.

For years I couldn't figure out how to...
Define my dreams.

But then one day...
I realized that if I can't see it, I can't do it. Visualizing helps me plan and break down my goals, big or small, into achievable action steps. I can see what needs to be done and the choices I need to make.

When I need a creative breakthrough, I...
Let my mind make connections to past experiences and the lessons I learned. I try to see things differently...to notice the art and goodness in the world around me.

I envision my future and how it might look. I create vision and inspiration boards. And sometimes, the best route to a creative breakthrough is a walk outside or a hot cup of joe.

I hope my next aha moment will help me...
Lower my carbon footprint and impact the world for good.

How would you answer these same questions? Please share and inspire me.

  3. Welcome Back Kelly! I follow you on instagram it looked like you had fun. All the pictures were beautiful. I love this post. I've had interesting break-throughs for in my life. I've learned to let go of what I can't control and control things I can. I learned not to have so much self-doubt and believe in myself. I think the most important one is realizing what I deserve in life and love and not settling for less than that. I love what you do for your creative breakthrough. It's a good way to look a past things and put them in a positive light and trying to learn from them and help others learn.

  4. I need to physically write down goals - typing on a computer won't work.

  5. I need to see goals too visually. I tend to need to have a day where I just sit and think or go for a hike to clear my head and come up with my goals too.
