Thoughts on Mother's Day

I am so blessed to have the most amazing mother. I have been wrapped in her love from the beginning and I still am today.

And, I am doubly blessed to have a mother-in-law, who I love and adore.

I am surrounded by strong, loving, amazing women, who happen to be mothers.  And I am surrounded by strong, loving, amazing women, who, by choice or circumstance, are not mothers.

For those for whom Mother's Day is a day filled with joy, I wish you more of the same.

And for those who struggle with this day, because of circumstances of loss or biology, or unfulfilled expectations, I wish you peace.

Today is a day I will celebrate the mothers in my world and the amazing people who "mother" in their own way.

Today I choose to be present in the blessings I have in my life today. I wish the same for you.

Happy Mother's Day.

  1. Happy Mother's day! It's so wonderful to be surrounded by so much love. I missed out on having my mom and MIL both as they both passed a long time ago. Lovely pics! Enjoy the day!

  2. What a lovely tribute to these two women! Happy Mother's Day <3

  3. Hi Kelly, two lucky women too, to have you in their life and I'm sure keeping them young and feeling plenty loved. Hope they had a marvelous day and they both look happy and fabulous! On varying phases of motherhood... my sister once took care of my eldest for a week when she was very young while we went on a vacation/ business trip for a week- and not that she was bad- but- my sister felt it was so much work and she was so exhausted at day's end- she decided right then to never have children. Since then, well, you couldn't find a more fun and generous aunt, my kids love her! So being a part of motherhood comes in all ways, those for which we are all blessed and grateful.
