Be that girl

Be that girl who

  • smiles and means it,
  • calls instead of texts,
  • eats because she's hungry.

Be that girl who
  • says yes because she wants to,
  • says no and sticks to it,
  • says, "Bring it!" to adventure.

Be that girl who
  • listens without judgement,
  • asks for help when needed,
  • always speaks the truth.

Be that girl who
  • makes healthy choices for herself,
  • can create a meal from the farmers' market,
  • understand her environmental footprint.

Be that girl who
  • respects the journey her body has taken,
  • respects and empathizes with others for their own journeys,
  • does not compare herself to others.

Be that girl who
  • knows when it's time to say goodbye,
  • who surrounds herself with people who build her up,
  • who is someone she would admire herself.

Be that girl who
  • celebrates her success,
  • appreciates and learns from her missteps,
  • gets up and tries again

Be that girl.

What would you add? Inspire me.

  2. These types of posts make me think. I pretty much agree with all of the above and I'd love to be that woman! Takes some thought to really assess whether I truly am though. I think I most admire women who ooze confidence. The girl who can dance in a crowded room because she hears her favorite song and doesn't care if her dance moves are out of style. The girl whom smiles like she has sunshine in her soul.

  6. I love this. I would add be the girl that says yes without feeling guilty. I'm trying to teach myself that sometimes it's ok to do things purely for myself.

  14. Great encouraging words, love the simplicity yet profound truths here. Thanks for this. I love the 'call vs text' line. Being the letter loving gal that I am, perhaps taking the time to write a short card or letter would take it to the next level. Visiting via "LetsBeFriends" linkup

    1. Thanks, Barb! And welcome! I agree with you on the card or note...sadly, it's becoming a lost art. And there is something so special, so personal, about someone's penmanship. It truly is a gift. Thanks again for your visit. Please come back again soon.
